What is ‘guided’ training?

Guided training is about us providing you with the tools, the knowledge and the motivation for you to shift your lifestyle towards a healthier and happier state of being. We will help you exercise efficiently and safely, but ultimately it is about you and the choices that you make. It is our mission to guide your choices to ensure that you stay on the path towards achieving your goals.

Are all your training sessions outdoors?

Yes, The Fitness Monk’s guided training services are all based in a pocket of suburban parkland in Surrey Hills, Victoria. Aside from being invigorating, there are many benefits to exercising outdoors – even working out in the rain can be a liberating experience.

What if the weather is so bad it’s impossible to train?

In extreme climatic conditions such as the unlikely occurrence of snow, or extreme heat which results in an unsafe training environment, your training session will be cancelled and made up at another time. Kendall will make the decision as to whether the session will proceed on days of extreme weather, and notify you as soon as possible.

How many people in your group classes?

Our group classes are capped at a maximum of 10 people to ensure a safe workout environment and a personal level of interaction with Kendall.

Can I come along and see if I like it?

You sure can! We offer complimentary classes to any of our group training sessions. If you’re keen to give guided training a go then it’s as simple as picking up the phone and grabbing a spot in the next class.

What do I need to bring?

Please bring along a towel to stretch on, a water bottle to drink out of, supportive, grippy shoes and loose comfortable clothes to run around in and you should be just fine. If it is a cold morning you may want to bring a jumper to put on after your workout.

Is it Ok if I have never really exercised before?

Of course! The fitness monk caters for all levels of fitness and athletic ability in their sessions. It is not about what you have done in the past but the choices you make now that makes a difference!

Will Kendall be my trainer?

The Fitness Monk is a boutique fitness business with a dedicated team of two, Kendall is the trainer and Kate ensures everything else happens the way it should. Keeping it simple ensures that you are always at the receiving end of high quality training, guidance and client support completely in line with The Fitness Monk values and training philosophy.

Do I have to join up for a fixed length of time?

Health and fitness is forever, for personal Training client The Fitness Monk asks you for a 3 month commitment at the beginning of your training to get you going towards a healthier you. The minimum number of group training  classes is 5 and are available for purchase on the products page. If you have any questions then please get in touch.
